I dropped some vinegar on a plastic item and now it has become very scratched up since vinegar always stains and messes up plastic (from what i read). HOW do i remove these stains?? 10 pnts for best answer plzz hurry
Without knowing at all the specifics of the plastic, I find it logical, given that food products such as Vinegar and Tomato, are highly acidic, and when stored in plastic, will almost always stain, yet tomato ketchup and vinegar are sold in bottles formulated to withstand that.
Without knowing how the item became very scratched up, I have to assume Vinegar didn't cause the scratching, though it certainly has the ability to dissolve and/or etch. I use it to save old paint brushes.
Finally I doubt there is a positive resolution to the problem, and Vinegar, as acidic as it is,,, is not instant, such as Sulphuric Acid could be.

Hi, i have a Diesel watch strap which is made out of rubber and it has retained some color from the clothes that i have been wearing. Is there any way to remove stains from rubber? Or does anyone know where i can buy Diesel watch straps in particular?
Most stains can be washed off of rubber with a little dish soap and water. The problem with your watch strap, I suspect, is that it has dye transfer from your clothing. If that is the case, it probably cannot be simply washed off. You will need Rit or Carbona color run remover which is found in the laundry aisle at most discounters. You can apply some onto a soft cloth and agitate/rub it on the rubber band until the dye is removed. If you have the Watch Outlet franchise near you, they sell Diesel watch bands.

If there's anyone that knows how to remove stains and ink from arborite, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
p.s. the less chemicals the better!
Arborite is a high pressure laminate, not marble or granite, so you would not use the same methods to clean arborite as you would those materials.
For stubborn stains, use an all-purpose cleaner, with a damp cloth; then rinse
thoroughly with warm water and wipe dry.
For really tough stains, create a paste composed of baking soda and water. Using a
soft brush, scrub gently in a circular motion – 10 to 20 strokes should remove
most stains (keeping in mind that excessive scrubbing can dull or damage the
finish); then rinse thoroughly with warm water and wipe dry.
If all else fails, persistent stains may require the use of undiluted regular bleach or
nail polish remover. Apply to the stain and let stand NO LONGER THAN TWO MINUTES (VERY IMPORTANT);
then rinse thoroughly with warm water and wipe dry. This step may be repeated if
the stain appears to be fading and the color of the laminate remains unaffected
(KEEP IN MIND THAT PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO ANY KIND OF BLEACH WILL CAUSE DISCOLORATION) in other words do not let stand ANY LONGER THAN TWO MINUTES, NOT, I REPEAT, NOT OVERNIGHT!
Avoid harsh chemical cleaners
Many commercial products contain substances that may damage or discolor the
surface of laminates. The following should never come in direct contact with your
surfaces; if they do, wipe off immediately and rinse the surface thoroughly:
- Toilet bowl cleaners
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Oven cleaners
- Drain cleaners
- Coffee pot cleaners
- Rust removers
Hope this can help ya out!

The hearth on my fireplace has stains ( I think my grandson spilt fruit juice ) I've tried to remove them but with no luck, thanks for your help.
LTP Grimex or LTP Power Stripper or LTP Spot Stain Remover mixed with LTP Fullers Earth (depends if it's polished or unpolished marble). That works for stains.
You can buy it in every tile shop.
Now, just so you and the answerer no 1 knows: marble stains a lot if it hasn't been sealed. That's a very porous material as it's just natural stone. Please make sure that as soon as you clean it you seal it! Ask in your tile shop. I recommend Lithofin Stainstop if unpolished marble and MPG LTP sealer if polished. Do it once and redo after one year.
Good Luck! xx

My son works in a factory that makes truck beds. He grinds on aluminum all day and it gets ground in to his skin. His hands, knees and elbows especially are hard to get clean. What will remove these stains the best and easiest?

I have stains on my shower floor pan. It's made of plastic. There are stains from where I stand and water stains. I've tried a lot of the commercial cleaners - but none seem to remove all the stains and restore it to it's original white.
The main thing I swear by is the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. Anytime I have given up on cleaners I tried the eraser and I have always been happy. I use it on my walls, my tubs, my sinks. (which some are even dull porceline so dirt clings to that everytime)

I quit smoking forever sometime back, but tobacco stains are still there. Though they are getting less darker since I quit. But still lot of them remain.
I read somewhere that Flossing removes stains. But someone told me that it only HIDES and not remove stains, so one has to do it repeatedly which eventually weakens teeth/gums. Is it true?
Also, please suggest some methods so that all stains go away forever. Kitchen methods are also welcome.
On the funnier side, I cant stop speaking and keep quiet!
CONGRATULATIONS
on quitting smoking!
flossing is good for your teeth and gums (stains or not)
it does not weaken them
the baking soda is the best home remedy
some at home whitening kits weaken your teeth (the peroxide will weaken your teeth)
keep brushing twice a day
floss everyday
and visit your dentist twice a year
it will get better
